How does CHI1 choose its news and resources?
All features are aimed at having as much of the following four elements as possible:
- Business and/or technology related news and resources. CHI1 is not a geek magazine but includes contents
for professionals in all areas of business.
- Chicago related topics. Some of the topics may not be exclusive to Chicago but most articles are about individuals,
companies, organizations that are in Chicago.
- Most of all, functional and practical. Articles are meant to provide the reader with some form of practical
information. This may come in the form of an analytical article which provides the reader with insight into making
key decisions, a tutorial on software that will increase efficiency, services and products that make good business
sense, etc.

How is CHI1 different from news that I will find in other
Chicago business and computer periodicals?
Chicago currently has a few quality business periodicals that focus on general news stories. CHI1 distinguishes
itself in a couple of ways. Content is almost always Chicago related and, most importantly, it is
applicable. CHI1, for example, probably would not publish an article announcing a corporate merger or a new CEO
of a firm. Although this information is important and can be interesting, it is not functional. On the other hand,
CHI1 may publish an article about a new CEO and explain with examples how he or she did things different to
boost profits. This would now be information that the reader can learn from or may be able to use proactively.
Chicago also has a few newspapers that focus on computers. For the most part, these cater to IT
professionals. CHI1 Business & Technology includes a variety of technical and non-technical articles.
